Euromoney has named VPBank's cash-management and financial-infrastructure solution for electronic cooperatives as Vietnam's best cash management deal for 2026, according to a report by Cong An Ho Chi Minh City.

The award, titled "Vietnam's best cash management deal 2026", recognises a system built on the Compay platform. It connects VPBank's banking services to the management systems of participating cooperatives through a virtual-account model, which allows real-time reconciliation and separates the flow of funds between the cooperative and its members.

The platform integrates collections, disbursements and tax payments, and automates processing with AI, generative AI, machine learning and robotic process automation. According to the report, the model is running at more than 30 electronic cooperatives in the transport sector across five localities, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Hue.

The model behind the deal

The "electronic cooperative — digital economy alliance" model was proposed by the writer and researcher Nguyen Xuan Tuan and implemented by VPBank. Its premise is a comparison: a large enterprise can staff departments for finance, legal, human resources and technology, while a household business with a few workers or a small cooperative cannot. The electronic cooperative links independent economic entities through shared technology, governance and services, while each keeps its legal status, autonomy and responsibility.

The reported goal is to connect 3,000 cooperatives and 25 million household businesses nationally in agriculture, retail and logistics. Digitising transaction history is part of the pitch: a business with a verifiable record can approach bank credit with evidence rather than a self-declared history.

The economics the founders cite

The report offers an illustrative calculation rather than an audited figure: if one million economic entities each saved one million dong a month in management costs, the combined saving would be about 12 trillion dong a year. It also argues that time released from administrative work can move into production, sales, customer care and market development.

What the award does and does not prove

Euromoney's recognition is for a specific transaction: a cash-management deployment that reached production with a real cooperative base. It is not an endorsement of the wider economic thesis, and the report itself notes that the model's value will be judged by how it operates, how much resource it saves and whether the benefit lasts.

The distinction matters in a market where digital-transformation awards are common and adoption is not. Thirty-plus cooperatives in one sector is a working pilot with a public reference; three thousand cooperatives across three sectors is a different kind of claim, and the gap between the two is where the next two years will be decided.
