Microsoft will allow customers to develop autonomous AI agents starting in November.
The company aims to leverage these agents, which require minimal human intervention, for tasks such as handling client inquiries and managing inventory.
Microsoft's Copilot Studio will enable users to create these agents with little coding knowledge, using AI models from Microsoft and OpenAI.
Ten ready-to-use agents will be available for tasks like supply chain management and client communications.
McKinsey & Company demonstrated an agent managing client inquiries by utilizing interaction history and scheduling follow-ups.
Microsoft's move comes amid investor pressure to show returns on AI investments, with some concerns about the pace of Copilot adoption.
