🤖 The Future of AI Research

The Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) released a major report created by a special panel led by Francesca Rossi. The report was developed from mid-2024 to early 2025 and includes ideas from 24 top AI researchers, along with feedback from 475 experts in the field.

It covers 17 key areas of AI, such as reasoning, ethics and safety, embodied AI, and artificial general intelligence (AGI). Each section explains the background of the topic, the current state of research, and the biggest challenges that remain.

The report also highlights how AI connects with other fields like cognitive science and computer hardware. It talks about the changing roles of universities and companies in driving AI forward, and the impact AI could have on global politics.

This report is meant to guide researchers, leaders, and policymakers as AI continues to evolve rapidly.
