U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Framework for AI in Critical Infrastructure The DHS has developed a framework for the safe and secure development and deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in 🇺🇸 United States critical infrastructure. The framework:

  1. Assigns roles and responsibilities: to five key groups: cloud providers, AIdevelopers, critical infrastructure owners, civilsociety, and the public sector.

  2. Covers five responsibility areas: securing environments, responsible AI design, data governance, safe deployment, and performance monitoring.

  3. Aims to enhance AI safety and security: in critical infrastructure, promoting transparency, trust, and accountability.

  4. Supports ongoing AI safety and security research: to enable responsible AI deployment in critical infrastructure.

The framework is voluntary and builds upon existing risk frameworks to advance AI safety and security in critical infrastructure.
